Network Vision/LTE - Jacksonville Market (including Gainesville/St. Augustine/Ocala)

I have an iPhone so I have no way to tell. I still see the same UARFCN 8665 on the field test so I guess not.

I would look more in the city limits for it.

Funny thing is in the areas of FL, where they swapped for the C Block, the spectrum Omega map still shows them as holding the A Block.

I live by the Oaks Mall Terrell. On 62nd Blvd.

That area is terrible for Sprint. NO CAPACITY AT ALL. Hopefully it's coming soon. In Ocala I know Sprint sent the stores surveys about it's network in the area and all the stores really let them have it about how horrible the network was. I believe Sprint has acted on this but it could have been coming either way.

I used to be on Sprint, then went away for a (long) time; now back.  I'm in the northern Orlando suburbs in a hole with no Band 41.  Even Band 25 seems to be just 5mHz wide.  There is a tower 500 yards from me that has B25.  If I go a couple miles in any direction, I get B41.  I'd appreciate any informed speculation on what I might expect from Sprint putting B41 on "my" tower?  Thanks!

If it's still 5x5 does that mean thos towers will go 10x10 first then 15x15 later?

I'm going by what my modem (EM7455) reports when on B25.  Never have seen anything but 5mHz.

I never had Clearwire, but the representations from the builder of the tower when it went in 9 years ago was that Clearwire was going to have a spot.  If that was the case, is it the natural progression for Sprint to provision old Clearwire 2.5-2.5gHz spectrum to Band 41 2.5-2.7gHz? Or does the fact that it has B25 5×5 suggest it's more likely that the next upgrade will be to take B25 to 10×10 or 15×15 ?

Some of their towers in Orlando have 15x15 it's their first city with it. It's not a matter of if it's more when. Some of towers have both 15x15 B25 and, B41. I was there back in April and, had both at Disney parks.

That's usually how it goes but I have yet to see anymore 10x10 in Orlando. It's 15x15 or 5x5 so it could possibly jump straight to 15x15.

And, is there any past precedent to say if B41 would be added?

That's what annoys me with Sprint att And, VZW would have it done on all towers in a matter of Days. It just requires a software update.

Nope upgraded backhaul too. But all of it could be done remotely.

Yeah when I was there the towers that have 15x15 didn't seem like they have the proper backhaul cause it was slow.

Yes!!!!!! It's about time! Hopefully my home site near the Oaks Mall has it also.

I was there yesterday and didn't get a single 10x10. Must have been today. It makes a difference.

    • Good catch! I meant 115932/119932. Edited my original post I've noticed the same thing lately and have just assumed that they're skipping it now because they're finally able to deploy mmWave small cells.
    • At some point over the weekend, T-Mobile bumped the Omaha metro from 100+40 to 100+90 of n41! That's a pretty large increase from what we had just a few weeks ago when we were sitting at 80+40Mhz. Out of curiosity, tested a site on my way to work and pulled 1.4Gpbs. That's the fastest I've ever gotten on T-Mobile! For those that know Omaha, this was on Dodge street in Midtown so not exactly a quiet area!
    • Did you mean a different site? eNB ID 112039 has been around for years. Streetview even has it with C-band back in 2022 - https://www.google.com/maps/@40.7303042,-73.9610924,3a,24.1y,18.03h,109.66t/data=!3m8!1e1!3m6!1s2ossx06yU56AYOzREdcK-g!2e0!5s20220201T000000!6shttps:%2F%2Fstreetviewpixels-pa.googleapis.com%2Fv1%2Fthumbnail%3Fpanoid%3D2ossx06yU56AYOzREdcK-g%26cb_client%3Dmaps_sv.share%26w%3D900%26h%3D600%26yaw%3D18.027734930682684%26pitch%3D-19.664180274382204%26thumbfov%3D90!7i16384!8i8192?coh=205410&entry=ttu Meanwhile, Verizon's eNB 84484 in Fort Greene has been updated to include C-band and CBRS, but not mmWave. I've seen this a few times now on updated Verizon sites where it's just the CBRS antenna on its own, not in a shroud and without mmWave. Odd.
    • Drove out into the country today.  Dish stuck to my phone like glue. At least -120 rsrp. Likely only good for phone calls (should have tested.) It then switched to T-Mobile. Getting back on Dish was another issue. I am used to dragging out coverage so I expected a few miles, but had to drive at least 10 miles towards a Dish site. Airplane mode, which worked for Sprint, did nothing. Rebooting did nothing. Finally got it to change over about 2 miles from the site by manually setting the carrier to Dish then it had great reception. Sprint used to have a 15 minute timeout but I did not have the patience today.  Previously I did a speed test on Dish out in the country at the edge of Dish coverage. My speeds were 2g variety. Dish has really overclocked some of these sites. Seen rssp readings in the 50s. Would have called them boomer sites with Sprint but much  more common with Dish.
