Speaking of Staff members, what ever happened to Jeff? He hasn't been on here in over 2 months.

That's like getting a recently graduated student as a substitute teacher for a week. This should be fun. Maybe danielholt and I can switch seats and change names for the week...

Yes there is, main thing we use it for is getting the stories out there to more.

We rescinded the position because the elevator broke, besides its only two floors.

Please join me in welcoming COZisback to the S4GRU Staff.  He will be helping us moderate the forums.  We are excited to have someone so dedicated to the great S4GRU Experiment join our ranks!  And he was crazy enough to accept the invite...

:thx:

    • Hehe! Free year BYOD time!
    • I don't have any Sprint lines as I am on at&t(off topic but dang no small cells and their speeds are awful lol cannot wait to jump ship lol), but from the looks of it i'm assuming it's Comcast as it was the only landline cabling on the utility pole. The one i'll post tomorrow i'm thinking is fed with an at&t fiber connection....or maybe Lightspeed? (never heard of them but apparently have a presence in Detroit.) I know Verizon small cells are fed by CenturyLink so it could be them as well. We also have a local Fiber network exclusive to Detroit Proper (Rocket Fiber owned by Quicken Loans) so that is also another possible candidate.  Anyway; I will find out and post whatever I can tomorrow.  Looks like I need to pick up a sprint line
    • Tomorrow I will take pictures of another one about a mile away in a pretty desolate area of Detroit. However, a massive condominium complex is being built in this area so once completed it will be a pretty nice area. Will post pics of my other finding sometime tomorrow if I can get the chance. Stay tuned.
    • Relays can be used temporarily to bring up sites immediately while dedicated traditional landlines are delivered. In fact, it's one of the touted benefits of the technology. Sprint small cells don't need to wait weeks to months for backhaul to arrive like back during NV days.  Also yes. That's an Airharmony 4000 B41 mini macro connected on its ethernet backhaul port to a provider of some sort.  Actually now that I think of it, you're the first one to confirm with pictures an AIrspan small cell connected to what appears to be a landline backhaul. Were you able to grab any cell info from it like carriers live or EARFCN?
    • That's what I figured. It's hard to say if the relay was there in the first place because two weeks ago this small cell wasn't even there. I'm wondering if they'd being Comcast...
