dedub
I pulled over as soon as I saw the first LTE signal and did a few tests, this was probly 10-15 miles north of town. Once the pics are done uploading, I have some screens of the maps and what I thought were probably the towers. DaQue
Was looking at maps in Sensorly and saw a tiny bit of lte shown for Pittsburg KS. Is it real or bad data? I used to live near there.
S4GRU
Was looking at maps in Sensorly and saw a tiny bit of lte shown for Pittsburg KS. Is it real or bad data? I used to live near there. It's real. We have had that plotted in our Sites Complete map for approximately 6 weeks. Also, I have seen that Sensorly report grow in the past week or so. Also, it is spelled Pittsburg, no H. Probably an auto correct from Android caused that. It tried to force Pittsburgh just now on me too. It's one of my favorite places to go. It is the Fried Chicken capital of the U.S. And I have a fried chicken addiction. Robert via CM9 Kindle Fire using Forum Runner
WiWavelength
The original intent was "Pittsburgh" to reflect the coal mining industry in the county, but the "h" was dropped to avoid confusion with that little town in Pennsylvania. Humorous aside, while in Pittsburg some years ago, my little brother asked me, "Where do the Pirates play?". I still tease him about that. opguy
I have started getting a weak signal on my EVO LTE. I'm right by 106th and Quivira. Anyone else starting to get LTE service in that area

WiWavelength
The Sprint site at the southeast corner of the I-35/I-435 interchange has had active LTE for months. opguy
Here is the sprint coverage map and roughly drew over where I have got lte around Hutch. that map is for all purposes useless until LTE is fully deployed in a market. It shows a wide area and is not specific enough down to the spectrum each tower supports. It's good for voice and general information but not LTE. I think Sprint has 48% of their towers convertd to NV but they are making rapid progress.

AJ I have not had any LTE signal until a week or so ago I am right in the middle of two towers who have been upraded to NV, one at 103rh and 69 Hwy and the other on Renner. I am out of spectrum coverage for both of those by two blocks. The tower closes to me (College and Quivira) has not been upgraded to NV but hopefully soon. I'll see if I am pulling off the tower at I-35/I-435 but I doubt it.
jeffcarp
I was in Kansas City yesterday which was my first time in a LTE market. I was at Arrowhead Stadium at the Chiefs game. Even though I had a good 4G signal on my phone it was unusable. I got absolutely no usable bandwidth at all. I brought my verizon 4g mifi and had to use that to get any use out of the phone while at the stadium. Disappointing first LTE experience. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy Note 2 using Tapatalk. Even though I had a good 4G signal on my phone it was unusable. I highly doubt that you had "good 4G signal." Did you actually check your LTE signal strength? Inside Arrowhead on the field level, LTE signal strength is weak (-115 dBm RSRP) in the stands to nonexistent on the concourse. The one caveat is that signal strength might be better on the view level. Regardless, the Kauffman Stadium site does not have active LTE yet, so any LTE signal at the sports complex right now is just spillover from sites in the surrounding area. jeffcarp
I just saw and read the thread about signal strength bars so clearly I do not know (now) what my LTE signal strength was there, as I was using only the signal bar graphic as my indication. I also read from that thread that the About Phone menu isn't even accurate for LTE signal strength. Since I don't know how to access the LTE Engineering screen on a Galaxy Note 2 I guess I have no idea how to determine what my LTE signal strength is. opguy
Watching the Chiefs is good a reason to get any use out of a phone at the stadium. You can't determine the LTE signal strength from the bars on the home screen, that does not register LTE signal. Arrowhead is not covered by NV yet, should be in a few weeks.
